Since the 1950s, and under the management of journalist Christos D.Lambrakis,
Lambrakis Press has followed a dynamic path of profitable development
and expansion, allowing it to become the media sector's very first
company to ever be listed on the Athens Stock Exchange's main market in October 1998.
Today,
having implemented a series of significant investments, essentially
financing the acquisition of fixed assets and participations in
affiliated companies, Lambrakis Press and its subsidiaries hold the
leading and most widely diversified position in the mass media industry
in Greece.
Specifically, Lambrakis Press:
· publishes, along with its subsidiaries, a total of 4 newspapers (including the two top Greek newspapers "TA NEA" and "TO VIMA") and 24 magazines, that hold leading positions in their respective categories, both in terms of readership and attracted advertising revenue
· co-owns and operates one of the largest, ultra-modern industrial printing facilities
in South-Eastern Europe, that covers all stages of printing, from
importing and trading paper to printing, binding, inserting, finishing
and packaging a wide range of high-quality printed media in high volumes
· runs two travel agencies and is the largest single shareholder in the top press distribution agency in Greece
· is active in the book publishing and maintains its presence in bookstore outlets participating in the largest bookstore chain in Greece
· participates in the most successful free-to-air television station and participates in two of the largest TV production studios in Greece
develops and runs "www.in.gr", the first and largest news and information portal in Greece, and www.shop.21.gr, one of the first e-shops in Greece.
