NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC (Greek edition)

GENERAL INFORMATION

In May 1998 Lambrakis Press signed a long-term agreement with National Geographic Society to publish the monthly magazine NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC in Greek. The agreement covers Greece, Cyprus and all the Greek-speaking regions worldwide. The industrial printing sector of Lambrakis Press undertook the magazine’s printing, being one of the very few printing plants internationally to which National Geographic Society has granted license to print its demanding magazine.

In addition to the magazine, the agreement of Lambrakis Press with National Geographic Society provides for the exclusive preferential publishing in Greek and distribution in Greece and Cyprus of all kinds of books, movies and any other product of National Geographic Society.

In 2007 the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC issues were accompanied by a series of original high-quality digital DVDs with historic and geographical topics and included optionally the National Geographic Traveler publications “Guide and Map of Crete” (June), “Guide and Map of Cyclades” (July), the “Guide and Map of Peloponese” (August) and the historical audiovisual albums “1922 O Megalos Xerizomos” (The Big Uprooting), “1912-1913 H Megali Exormisi” (The Big Debouching) and “1453: I Alosi Tis Polis” (The Capture of Constantinople).

Also in 2007, “NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC” circulated as stand-alone publications the “Calendar of 2007” and the albums “1922 O Megalos Xerizomos” (The Big Uprooting), “1912-1913 H Megali Exormisi” (The Big Debouching) and “1453: I Alosi Tis Polis” (The Capture of Constantinople).

In March 2007 National Geographic launched the monthly kids’ magazine “National Geographic Kids” that features content by National Geographic society appealing to children and youngsters.

The issues of the magazine are accompanied by an educating-entertaining DVD with National Geographic content.

CIRCULATION DATA

In 2007 “NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC” had average circulation of 18.763 copies per issue and additional sales of 10.128 copies through subscriptions.

Respectively, «National Geographic Kids» from March to December 2007 had average circulation of 5.666 copies per issue and additional sales of 931 copies per issue through subscriptions.

READERSHIP DATA

According to a recent survey by Focus Bari for 2007, the total readership of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC is 369.000 readers per issue.

ATTRACTED ADVERTISING SPENDING

According to data by Media Services SA, the nominal attracted advertisement revenue for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC in 2007 amounted to 1.464 thousand euros, while for 2003 to 1.602 thousand euros.
