CD-ROM, a bi-annual magazine specialized in
issues concerning multimedia, is published
for the first time. In 1997, the magazine
is renamed ROM, its content is expanded to
include Internet-related issues, and the number
of issues published increased to six per year.

Lambrakis Press S.A. expanded its activities
by becoming a direct importer of paper, a
move decided primarily in order to cover the
needs of its publications and printing plants.
Simultaneously, the Company invested approximately
GRD 300 million to establish an integrated,
state-of-the-art paper-processing plant, so
as to both reduce costs and ensure a constant
supply and variety regarding its stocks of
paper.
MARKET HiTECH, an annual guide covering the
field of home electronics, is published for
the first time.

S.A. is founded, in which Lambrakis
Press S.A. holds a 33.3% stake. The
company is active in the field of publishing
in Northern Greece and brings out the
weekly newspaper ANGELIOFOROS TIS KYRIAKIS
(The Sunday Messenger) and CLOSE UP,
a monthly magazine covering a variety
of topics. It also owns the ultra-modern,
fully vertical Philippos printing plant.

acquired a building situated at, 52
Pireos Street in Athens with a total
surface of 5,200m2, in order to house
its paper-processing plant and provide
the necessary storage space for the
promotional and other products commercialized
through its publications. The purchase's
total value amounted to approximately
GRD 900 million. |
